The Season:
A warmer than normal Summer and a cooler and drier Autumn typified the 98-99 growing season. The significance of this cool and dry autumn was the occurrence of a large diurnal temperature variation that was
due to the generally clear night skies during this critical final ripening period. This diurnal variation assists in the development of the intense fruit
flavours of the grapes this year, which has been carried through to the wine.
